"Design & Architecture"

The novel research for the architecture of the 1930's modern movement in Athens, conducted by ELLINIKI ETAIRIA (Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage) spotlights the rich architectural heritage of the 1930's.

The 6th Athens Xclusive Designers Week presented us how design and architecture blend harmoniously, by introducing this cultural movement to the world of fashion, through a breath-taking Photo Exhibition and an inspiring Open Forum with distinguished speakers.

When AXDW was first exposed to the "Modern Movement" project, our reaction came natural: if these buildings were meant to be garments, their designers would have made our country proud.

The "Modern Movement" of the 1930's inspired AXDW to give design and fashion another dimension; to remind us how Art can change our everyday lives. But most importantly, to give us all a wake up call for a better quality of life in our city.
