The emerging talents of the Greek fashion scene present their collections at the 8^th Athens Xclusive Designers Week, the organization that has proudly established the institution which brings to light the rising stars of the fashion industry.

On Sunday October 24^th, the spotlight is on young creators at the New Designers Awards by Ford.

We wish them good luck!

The support and promotion of New Designers has always been one of the major priorities for us all at AXDW. In every event, we host the creations of New Designers providing them with the possibility to promote their creative talent, inspiration and work to the large audience and Media.

We aim to institutionalize this initiative by rewarding the Top-3 New Designers with important awards:

First Award: Participation at an International Fashion Week,

Second Award: Contract with a well-known Greek Business Industry for the creation of a new product line,

Third Award: Free participation to the two proceeding AXDWs.

The New Designers Award will be growing through the next years and the brand new 4th AXDW will nominate the best Top 3 New Designers to participate at the pan-European contest which will be held at the Metropolitan Fashion Capital, London!

• In brief, during the latest 3rd AXDW, the Top 3 New Designers that have been awarded were:
• Andreas Georgiou (Best Designer Award),
• Vassiliki Assimomiti (Best Catwalk),
• Christiana Livaditis (Best Trendsetter).

The New Designers Awards of the 7th AXDW are sponsored by Rexona.

The spotlights during the 6^th AXDW were on the six emerging designers, who have worked hard to showcase their creative ideas and stand out from the crowd. By order of appearance, the new designers that participated on November 2009 were:

The Judging Committee was present during all shows and voted for the categories Best Trendsetter, Best Catwalk and Best Designer. The results were announced during the New Designers Awards ceremony that took place on November 1^st, and were presented by Evelyn Kazantzoglou and Nikoleta Ralli from MAD TV :

Best Designer (1^st Prize): Evangelina Kavroulaki
Evangelina won her participation in an international Fashion Week to present her upcoming collection!

Best Catwalk (2^nd Prize): DaRousso by Dusanka Duric
Dusanka won an online display/boutique at Myself.gr to share with the site's 165,000 viewers her stylish ideas in a personalized blog!

Best Trendsetter (3^rd Prize): Evangelina Kavroulaki
Evangelina won an extensive presentation at "Young" magazine, sharing her secret trends and creative ideas!

The Judging Committee consisted of significant representatives from the Greek fashion business:

We wish all our new designers a promising future in the fashion business, and we pledge that AXDW will always provide the platform for new talent to flourish.

Με μεγάλη επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκε την Δευτέρα 10 Νοεμβρίου η Τελετή Απονομής Βραβείων στους Νέους Σχεδιαστές που παρουσίασαν τις Ανοιξιάτικες και Καλοκαιρινές collection τους για το 2009, στο πλαίσιο της 4ης Διεθνούς Εβδομάδας Μόδας Athens Xclusive Designers Week.

Στις τρείς Κατηγορίες Βραβείων: Best Designer, Best Catwalk, Best Trendsetter-Βραβείο YOUNG.

Οι νικητές της 4ης AXDW ήταν η Marina Andeeva (Best Designer) και η Maria Daskalakis (Best Catwalk & Best Trendsetter - YOUNG Award).

Τα έπαθλα που αντιστοιχούν στις τρεις κατηγορίες Βραβείων είναι τα εξής:

Η Διοργανώτρια της 4ης AXDW κα Τόνια Φουσέκη αλλά και η κριτική επιτροπή (Ioannis Guia, Aurelie Fiolleau de Emanuel Ungaro, Σάντυ Καραγιάννη, Francesco Oppi, Εβίνα Παπανικολάου, Γιάννα Παναγιωτίδου και Μάρω Λάντζου) συγχαίρουν τους νικητές αλλά και όλους τους Νέους Σχεδιαστές που συμμετείχαν στον Διαγωνισμό για τις δημιουργικές ιδέες τους και την ευγενική συμμετοχή τους στην Athens Xclusive Designers Week και τους εύχονται κάθε επιτυχία στην σταδιοδρομία τους.

The third day of AXDW was dedicated to the New Designers. The catwalk room hosted hundreds of fans of the new creators, media reps, celebrities and buyers. We watched the unique collections of:

• Εllie Papakosta - the new designer presented her collection «Dutches» with jewels created by D. Stamatiou. Her favorite colors were white, black, blue and green.

• Marina Adveeva - the winner of the category «Best Designer» of the previous ΑXDW participated once again with her collection for Fall-Winter 09-10. This time, Marina moved among the shades of gold and red, with clothes that can be worn with alternative ways.

• Dusanka Duric - presented her sexy collection based on leather in brown and purple.

• Rene Karadimou - The new designer worked intensively in order to send an optimistic message to the audience through her collection that was based in Greek culture. Its main characteristics were the golden tones in printed clothes. Her presentation was combined with the music of the famous Greek composer Vangelis Papathanasiou while at the end of the show the designer greeted her audience from her wheel chair and moved sentimentally every guest in the catwalk room.

• Xrisanthos - the new designer chose a dramatic style for the presentation of his collection. A theatrical performance / protesting Xrisanthos' views against violence as a fashion statement.

• Μaria Daskalaki - the new designer that won the awards Best Trendsetter & Best Catwalk at the previous ΑΧDW presented an eccentric show with leather accessories and elements that transmitted intense erotic messages.

• Ζina Glou - the new designer presented for the first time a collection of minimal and airy clothes in pal tones that were combined with luxurious details in strass and won the impressions of the audience. The music of her show was selected by the Production Director of En Lefko, Mrs Katerina Kafetzi (Kafka).

• DuvO - The talented "duo" of designers presented trousers and geometric schemes in their woolen material in yellow, red and black in this alternative show.

• Celebrity Skin by Dimitris Strepkos & Eleni Mparla - The fresh designers "couple" presented avant garde clothes in black and grey tones for a dominating presence with an impressive styling.

Just after the completion of the shows, the New Designers Awards had followed, a unique and bright celebration for the New Designers.

The Judging Committee members were:  Thes Tziveli, Designer, Meti Tsoukatou, Fashion Editor of the magazine GYNAIKA, Mikaela Theofilou, Fashion Editor of the portal stylewatch, Alexandra Icart, President of the International Fashion Organization of Monaco, Mina Potamianou, from the company SAGIAKOS / Hugo Boss Kifissia, Evina Papanikolaou, Director of the Buyers Department of the TSANTILIS company, Meletis Koropoulis, owner and Creative Director of BETTINA.

Giorgos Lianos and Despina Kambouri, the presenters of the morning show of Antenna TV, presented the AXDW New Designers Awards this year.

The winners of the 3 categories were:

• Best Designer - Celebrity Skin by Dimitris Strepkos & Eleni Mparla - The award was given by Mrs. Tonia Fouseki, Organizer of Athens Xclusive Designers Week

• Best Catwalk - Celebrity Skin by Dimitris Strepkos & Eleni Mparla - The award was given by Mrs Alexandra Icart, President of the Fashion Organization of Monaco

• Βest Trendsetter - DuvO - The award was given by Mrs Santra Stathaki, Chief Editor of the magazine Young

One of Athens Xclusive Designers Week's major goals is to discover and promote new talent in the fashion industry. In order to achieve that, as of April 2008, AXDW has established the New Designers Awards, the institution that offers young designers a platform to showcase their work and inspiration.

A judging committee consisting of prominent buyers, fashion editors and established designers, attend all shows and vote for the categories: Best Catwalk, Best Trendsetter and Best New Designer. The prizes are awarded at a glamorous ceremony and the winners get the chance to promote their work beyond the borders of their own atelier, gaining the opportunity to take part in a fashion week abroad, the ability to present their collections on a TV show or fashion magazine, or to secure their participation at the next AXDW.
